Practical Advice
Swim only in designated areas. Boat traffic near the shore can be heavy, and currents are sometimes unpredictable. Electricity on the island can be unreliable, so bring a fully charged power bank.
Pack reef-safe sunscreen, water shoes for rocky areas, and insect repellent for the late afternoon. Do not touch or climb on historical artifacts at the forts in Bocachica.

Planning questions
Is Tierra Bomba safe for tourists?
Yes, especially within private beach clubs. On public beaches, always agree on prices for food, chairs, and drinks before consuming them. Politely decline vendors if you are not interested.
What should I pack?
Bring a swimsuit, water shoes, small Colombian Pesos, and a dry bag for electronics. A microfiber towel is useful if you visit public beaches. See Plan your visit for a full list.
Can you stay overnight on Tierra Bomba Island?
Yes. While most visitors come for a day trip, several beach clubs and resorts offer overnight accommodations. Book in advance, as rooms are limited.
